THE DRAGONS:- Cheers to Me

1990: Mario Escovedo and Kenny Mochikoshi Horne are in a local San Diego punk band called M-80. By years end, they decide that they want to go in a more Rock 'n' Roll direction, so they wrote ten songs and put an ad in the San Diego Reader. First to answer was bassist Steve Rodriguez. The three auditioned drummers and James Barczak completed the first Dragons line up.
February 1991: The Dragons recorded a five-song demo and a month later they played the South by Southwest (SXSW) music festival in Austin, Texas. Later that year, they recorded another five-song demo and returned to SXSW(1992) for a second time.
August 1992: The Dragons release a 12 song vinyl LP "X" in Spain on Impossible Records.
August 1993: The Dragons set out on their first regional tour of the Southwest ending with another show in Austin, TX. When they returned they parted ways with drummer Barczak. A few weeks later, at the San Diego Independent Music Seminar The Dragons met up with Jarrod Lucas, who kept asking Mario to buy him drinks, which lead to an audition and
job as the new Dragons drummer. Jarrod is still 'beatin' the skins' for The Dragons to this day of course, and the Jack 'n' Cokes are still flowin' too!
September 1994: The band returns to the studio to record the 4 song "Los Maricones de Rock" 7" EP on Pop Tones records, released in early 1995.
Spring 1996: The Dragons record and release their debut CD Pain Killer on local label Scam - O - Rama, run by their long time pal Ted Tarris (Inebria-Ted) of Flipside fanzine. Some of the tracks on this underground classic are still main staples of the bands live set to this day.
August 1996: The Dragons release a track on the Keep The Beat compilation on Hairball 8 Records. That winter finds The Dragons on their first Northwest Tour, highlighted by an appearance at one of the legendary Incredibly Strange Wrestling shows in San Francisco, >>>>> http://www.thedragons.com/
