PARASITES: It's Alive

How do you cover a double LP onto a single LP? The Parasites elegantly solved the problem by covering the Japanese 20-track version of the seminal Ramones live album. I still don't get why bands have to cover complete Ramones LPs, but if it has to be done, this is a cool way to do it. The only annoying thing is the constant audience noise that has been mixed in. 1700 made, some on white vinyl. + repro of the Japanese lyric sheet. Parasites are an American pop-punk band originally formed in 1985 by guitarist and singer Dave Parasite (a.k.a. Nikki Parasite) and bassist Ron Nole, formerly of the locally-known band, The Accelerators, in New Jersey. Dave later relocated to Berkeley, California, forming a new band with local players. The Parasites have had many personnel changes, with the most notable members being drummer Dan Cofer and his brother Scott Cofer, both formerly of the thrash-metal band Pillage Sunday. The band has been releasing records since 1987. After breaking up in 1998 and again 2003, the band released a Best Of compilation in 2006, entitled Retro-Pop Remasters (Best Of) on Go Kart Records. A new lineup of the band is currently touring and will be releasing an album of new material in 2007.
